Hello all.
I received an email from Rodney Gasch who is with the Washington trail 1753 group requesting any reenactors who would be interested in doing a program on February 24th At the Washington Trail Cherry Pie Hike at Jennings Nature Reserve near Slippery Rock, PA.
They are looking for someone to play Washington, Gist, some natives, and a couple of people who can discuss life in the 1750s. I am laid up with a bad wrist so I cannot participate, but I thought I'd put this out there to see if anyone else would be interested.
This is the email I received from Rodney:
Brenda Applegate passed on your contact information. Brenda and I work together with the Washington Trail 1753 group which is sponsoring the 20th annual George Washington Cherry Pie Hike on Saturday February 24th at Jennings State Park near Slippery Rock.
The reenactors who have participated in the past have stopped doing living history and we are frantically looking to find some replacements. The event generally attracts 2-300 people for 6 history hikes, as well as a piece of cherry pie.
We’d like to have 5 reenactors in total—3 who would be outside between 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. and portray George Washington, Christopher Gist, and a native. Six times during the day we reenact the shotting that almost killed George Washington during his 1753 mission through western PA—thus the native fires his musket at Washington and Gist. After each shooting, participants on each hike have a 10 minutes to discuss the French and Indian time period with the three reenactors.
We will also have two tables set up indoors at the park for two or more living history reenactors to discuss life during the 1750's. We provide lunch and have some funds available to help the reenactors cover expenses.
The event runs 9-2, at the Jennings State Park.
Please let me know if you might be interested in participating, or call me and we can discuss details. I'd welcome hearing about any other reenactors who might be interested.
Thanks for your consideration,
Rodney Gasch

Right now he is just looking for anyone to participate, not necessarily someone portraying Washington and Gist
If anyone would be interested you can contact him directly, or let me know and I'll pass on the information.
You're Most Humble Servant,
Steve
There is still time to be part of this event! They are looking for more participation from reenactors who will portray Washington, Gist & the Native.
